just in case you guys have been wondering what the hell HATCHing being doing.
Here's some pics of my project beater/restore I did over the summer.

In the spring I sold my Evo IX MR, so I need something to do with the extra cash laying around.
I recently pickup a beatup 91 Honda Accord LX for $100.00 It was not running, I was told it got a bad motor but soon I took her home and pulled the motor out. It look like it was missing a few stuff... few stuff that would not able the car to start. Rather than chasing the problem I opt for a better engine swap and settled for a JDM H22.

I add some coilover... Functions and Forms type 1 coilovers. It look decent minus the rust and 20 yrs shopping cart battle scars.

So here comes the plan.... the orginal plan was to patch in a new 1/4 panels and respray it. Soon one thing lead to another thing.... I decided I'll do it right or dont do it at all so I went almost all out restoring the rusty body. I replaced the rusty hood, driver side door, and left fender. I did not like the look of the oem location of the antenna so I relocated to the back of the roof. All work was done using metal patchings... the right way to fix rust.

From begining to the end... or at least at the moment.



Order a set of 1/4 patch panels for both sides.





Test fitting.....






cutting it out and welding in the new metal panels.....





some bodywork and sanding.....




Repairing both bumpers... yes too many battle scars at the local grocery!!

It was a pretty good time this month and a lot of cool cars showed up this time that I hadn't seen before. Highlights included a Jaguar E-type with a nicely done Ford V8 swap, a Monster Miata with a LSx engine, a Carrera GT, two GT3RS, the local Ferrari 308 group showed up en masse, and a bunch of the local Lemons/Chumpcar guys had their shitboxes on display as well.

This will save me big money for brewing, as hops are about the most expensive part of the process. I was at their house today for about 7 hours and only managed to do half of the work. Will have to go back again to finish it.
But here is what I got tonight. About 5 lbs of Cascade, and 3 lbs of Centenial.

Made myself a little hop vine necklace...very fashionable.
