Thread: b16 turbo questions

    Default b16 turbo questions

I have decided that I am going to build a 450-500 whp b16 turbo in the near future.

I have a couple of questions though

    1. I am pretty sure that a walbro 255 should supply enough fuel (pump gas) for this power, correct?

    2. Will detonation be a problem with this horsepower goal on pump gas?

    3. If pump gas is not an option, will the 255 pump supply enough fuel if I was to run E85?

    4. I have read that stock fuel lines are good for around 600 whp, so would that mean that on E85 it would limit me to 450ish?

    5. I ran a stock fuel rail/fpr on my last b16 turbo setup, will I need to to go with an aftermarket fuel rail, and adjustable fpr for my power goals?

110 may be an option, but does anyone sell 110 in the metro area?

This will be a weekend warrior, so gas mileage is not an issue, obviously, lol.

    Any helpful input appreciated, thanks.

The walbro 255 will easily support 500whp with race fuel. We've done 525whp with e85 on a single walbro pump and stock fuel lines, rail, and regulator. That was the absolute max we've gotten out of one. I would shoot for much less than that to be safe.

I wouldn't even consider trying to get anywhere near 450 with pump gas. It's just not worth it with the availability of better fuels.

110 fuel is available at multiple locations throughout the metro.

Anything else we can help you with, just let us know!

    Thanks
