    Default Turbo?!

So I found a pretty cheap T25 and was wondering if I should pick it up and if it's worth the trouble, it needs some work.

Hey all, it is what it is t25 turbo for sale needs balancing and a new dynamic seal. Turbo has .49 A/R on the housing and is a garrett.
So, shipped, it would be around $45. Just wondering if that's a good deal and how much it would be to get it fixed up nicely.

Firebird is getting a high compression LT1 and a bottle.

For to have. In case I get bored with a DD. It looks like a good deal and I'm sure I'll be able to use it eventually.

Don't bother. A turbo that small isn't good for much of anything (other than motorcycles and Metros) - when you're done paying someone to rebuild it and balance it, you'll have a $200 ornament on your shelf.

Well than what about for learning purposes? Buy it and rebuild it myself. I'm not going to never touch a turbo just because I'm not boosting the bird. I'd love to get into a performance shop so this could be practice?

The 2G DSM T25 is a good little turbo for a little extra power on a DD. If you look around though, you can buy them in good condition for $75-$100. You would have alot more than that in the one you are looking at by the time you rebuild it. Another thing to think about is if the guy let it go too far it may not even be worth rebuilding.

Ha, I guess that's what it looks like. But now it's got me looking for a turbo locally. xD And there are a few people around here parting out 2g's so I just might have one in the next month or two. God help me.

The T25 is a terrible turbo, it can't even provide enough airflow above 6k on a DSM.

It's really just for the learning experience. And so far, a T25 is the cheapest I've seen.

If its just for fun on your DD, get an ebay knockoff turbo for about double that price. Ive been running my ebay 60 trim for about 4 years now, no issues.
